Both alchemy and enchanting had their phrasing messed with replacing the somewhat bland descriptions with fancier words. I guess they need to ferment like a fine wine. Especially ones I made since ones I found in a crypt have significantly more value. And while this works great with Enchanting and Smithing Alchemy heavily favors the creation of poisons because restoration potions are worth pittance. This means that if you want to quickly improve your crafting skills you need to go out and find the rare materials to craft high quality items. When trying to improve your crafting skills rather than following the frankly eldritch system Skyrim used that somehow resulted in iron daggers to be the most effective way to grind smithing it’s now determined by the value of what you make.

With the generic subtitle ‘Roleplayers Overhaul’ you could be excused for assuming that this mod could do any number of things and if I were to say that the best thing this mod changed was the crafting system you’d probably look at me funny. Or in the case of Requiem the Dragonborn is a potato, and later on it might evolve into a potato with slightly thicker skin.

Now Skyrim could be about a loli anime thing spending it’s downtime away from collecting butterflies to suplex Thomas the Tank Engine. No longer is Skyrim about the all powerful Dragonborn who spend his down time from suplexing dragons to prance through the fields collecting butterflies and flowers. Fertile ground for a modding community to thrive as it has inadvertently encouraged aspiring programmers to tinker and fiddle adding or altering chunks of the game allowing players to cobble together a Skyrim that is truly unique to them. Skyrim is a blank slate, a great big snowy blank slate. Everything works fine but in the most generic way possible. Nothing about Skyrim is interesting or unique but at the same time nothing about the game is aggrevating or broken. To me Skyrim is the most generic, mechanically uninspired and boring RPG I’ve ever played. Skyrim is, and I hope I’m not going to far with this, boring.
